Doctor of Law degree, graduate of the Institute of Business Administration. 

Alain Tchernonog  has served as Secretary-General of the EDF Group since 2009. 

He began his career as a lawyer in international law at the Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES) (National Center for Space Studies], then in 1972, took over responsibility as Chief Counsel of  ANVAR (National Agency for the promotion of research, “the French Agency for Innovation”] in 1974. 

After having served as the Director of the Contracts Department of Roussel-Uclaf (1979-1990), he became General Counsel of the Pierre Fabre Group (1990-1995), then Legal Director of the Compagnie Générale d’Entreprises Automobiles [General Automobile Company) (1995-2000).

Having returned to the Veolia Environmental Group in 2001,  Alain Tchernonog was first its General Counsel and then Secretary-General until 2009.
