The context

Legal professionals, members and partners of the Fondation, legal professions, associations, institutions and bodies have joined forces to jointly construct a plan of action to export the legal professions, so as to further the strategy of civil law’s influence.

From the standpoint of building growth, the legal professions provide businesses with legal support and an export-friendly environment. They have formed a group known as the “The Continental Law Professions International Initiative” [French acronym is “ACDI”]. This group, which was initially comprised of French jurists, is henceforth open to foreign jurists, specifically to Italian and German jurists.

Activities

Together, the ACDI members have engaged in a series of initiatives :

  • Convention of Mediterranean Jurists :

- June 2008, Nice : Promoting the importance of the law and legal professionals in building the Union for the Mediterranean

- October 2009, Le Caire : The legal tools of civil law and the world financial crisis

- June 2010, Rome : Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in the Euro-Mediterranean area: A secure environment for investments and payments

  • Colloquium in Washington :

- May, 2009: Contributions from civil law for better regulation

- November, 2010 : Evidence as an Element of Legal Certainty

  • Colloquium in Armenia, October, 2008 The law in furtherance of economic development: legal certainty of investments in Armenia
  • Colloquium in Beijing, October 2007 Legal certainty in furtherance of economic development
