The Fondation and the French Industrial Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIFC) have launched a series of conferences on “China and the Law” for the purpose of promoting Chinese law and its legal experts, discussing company law issues, discussing and enhancing civil law within the framework of globalization—Chinese law being at the crossroads of various legal traditions.
Three conferences were held in Beijing in 2010:
- On March 31, about the theme of "The Law and the Chinese Environment: Characteristics, Challenges, and Perspectives.”
This conference was presented by Mr. WANG Canfa, Professor at the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), Director of the Pollution Victims Legal Aid Center, and an elected official.
- On May 27, on the theme of “China: Social Stakes and Political Challenges of the Tax Law.”
This conference was presented by Mr. CUI Wei, Professor at the China University of Political Science and Law, consultant at the Popular National Assembly, renowned international expert, a philosopher, and a trained jurist.
- On June 24, on the theme of “Recent Developments in Chinese Law: Some Observations.”
This conference was presented by Mr. Jean-Luc Quinio, a judicial magistrate, former legal counsel to the Embassy of France in China.
