Since April 2009, French Embassy in Beijing and the Fondation have established drafting groups with a view toward the terms of a sustainable collaboration durable with the Chinese Ministry of the Environment (MEP).
Thus, a letter of intent signed on 3 June 2010 in Beijing, firms up this partnership and specifics the sectors de cooperation which are:
- study and revision of the Chinese law on atmospheric pollution
- Codification of the environmental law
- Environmental taxation and environmental economic measures

- On October 19 and 20, 2009, a seminar on environmental law was jointly organized by the MEP and the French Embassy in China. Its objective was to identify the future forms of cooperation. The Fondation was represented by Professor François-Guy Trébulle.
- On October 14 , 2010, a delegation of the Fondation met with the
representatives of the MEP in Beijing.
The main purpose of this meeting was to review the overall implementation of the project and to better understand the expectations of the MEP.

- From December 6 to 10, 2010, the Fondation hosted the visit of a Chinese delegation in Paris which had come for training in environmental law. Meetings were organized with the ministers concerned, businesses, legal professionals and academics.

- On April 20 and 21, 2011, a cycle of conferences was organized in China at the University of Renmin, in which French and Chinese professors participated and respectively explained the fundamental principles of the law of the environment in France and in China.
- From June 22-24, 2011, the second seminar
on the codification of environmental law was held in Beijing from.
The delegation of French experts included: Mr. Gilles Martin, Professor of Law at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, and former head of the expert’s committee on French environmental code; Mr. Marc Clement, administrative judge, national expert deputized to the European Commission; and Mr. Michel Prouzet, attorney admitted to the Paris bar and member of the French-Chinese Association for Economic Law.

The Chinese delegation included: Mr. Wang Canfa, Professor at the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and Director of the Pollution Victims Legal Aid Center; Mr. Hu Jing, Associate Professor at CUPL; Mr. Zhu Xiao, Professor at the People’s University of Beijing; and Mrs. Luo Li, Professor at the Beijing Institute of Technology, and Dean of the Environmental Law Research Institute.

Seminar on the codification of environmental law

- On October 13-14, 2011, A seminar on the
theme of atmospheric pollution was held in Beijing.
The French delegation included: Mrs. Marianne Moliner-Dubost, J..D., specializing in environmental law and teacher/researcher at the University of Lyon 3; Mr. Carl Enckell, attorney, specializing in environmental and urban law; and Mr. Xavier Olny, Ph.D. in physics, specialist in environmental, air quality, noise and electromagnetic pollution, and head of the “Transport Sanitation Footprint, Emerging Risks” skills hub.
The Fondation was represented by Mrs. Nicole Souletie, Administrative and Financial Director.
